Engineering leveling route 1–300
A route computed from Forever’s own recipe ranges — not a Classic guide. Change the options and the route updates; share it with the link.

Computed from beta data (1.60.1.69913). Recipe color ranges and reagents may change before launch.
Default route: trainer recipes preferred, no camp stations, no specialization, both factions.
Route
Steps that need a recipe item: 3. There, no trainer recipe gives skill or it would cost at least 3× more.

Recipe items to get (not counted in the cost)

How this route is computed
- Skill-up chance: orange = 100%; yellow and green = (gray − skill) ÷ (gray − yellow); gray = 0. Expected crafts per point = 1 ÷ chance.
- At every skill point we pick, among the recipes you can already learn that still give skill, the one with the lowest material cost per expected point (keeping the current recipe unless another is at least 10% cheaper).
- Material cost uses the client’s vendor prices: exact for trade-supply items (thread, vials, dyes, flux…) and a proxy for gathered materials; items with no vendor price (dusts, essences…) take the median price of trade goods of the same item level. Enter your server prices to replace the proxy.
- Materials your profession can make (bolts, cured hides, bars…) are crafted when that is cheaper than buying them, and anything made earlier in the route is reused.
- Recipes with a cooldown (transmutes, Mooncloth) are never used; specialization recipes only when you pick that specialization; with “Prefer trainer recipes”, recipes learned from a recipe item count at triple cost.
- Trainers are server data: for trainer recipes we estimate the required skill as yellow − 20 (the usual gap for this profession’s recipe items) and mark those steps.
- Not counted: trainer fees, the cost of recipe items and auction-house fluctuations.
Orange Yellow Green GrayBar: orange (always gives a point) → yellow → green → gray (no more points).
