Which addons already have a Forever version, and what to do about the beta’s most common problems. Checked by hand on each addon’s page and in the game files.
Checked on September 24, 2026 · beta build 1.60.1.69977
The game has a newer build (1.60.1.70009): some rows may have changed since.
Quick fixes
The problems players report most on the beta, with the steps that work today. Settings are named as the game shows them.
My addon settings reset every time I log in
No official fix
Affects Anyone who uses addons.
The game writes your addon settings to WTF\Account\<account>\SavedVariables when you log out or reload, but does not read them back when you log in. Players have reported it since September 18 (build 69913), and Blizzard has not answered their threads yet.
What to do
Your settings are still on disk. Once your addons are set up, log out and copy the whole WTF folder somewhere safe, so you can put it back once Blizzard fixes this: after a reset, the next save overwrites those files with the defaults.
Do not delete the WTF folder to fix it: players report that it only helps until you next close the game, and you lose your settings.
If you want a tool, WTFix saves a checkpoint of your addon settings and restores it after a reset. It is a third-party addon that also needs a small Windows program, run while the game is closed. Use it at your own risk.
The world map is green in Spanish
Fixed in build 1.60.1.70009
Affects Players with the game in Spanish, or in any language other than English.
Forever’s new map art only ships for English clients, so other languages draw those parts of the map green.
Checked in build 1.60.1.70009: every map tile now has a Spanish file.
If it still freezes, you can try the setting that stops the AMD crashes, although no one has confirmed it on a Mac yet. At the character selection screen, before Enter World: Options,›System,›Graphics,›Secondary Lighting: Fair.
If it freezes before you reach that screen, reset the game’s options from the Battle.net app: the gear next to the Play button, then the game settings.
Forever version: the addon’s own page offers a file for Forever. Unofficial: a port by someone else. No Forever version: a Classic Era file will not load in Forever.
Popular addons, and whether their own page has a Forever version. For now none of them keeps its settings between sessions: see the fix.
Checked on each addon’s official page (CurseForge or GitHub) on September 24, 2026. Forever uses the addon rules of the current retail game, so a version made for Classic Era or Anniversary does not work.

Installing addons on Forever
Download the Forever file from the addon’s official page. On CurseForge, pick the Forever flavor: a file for Classic Era or Anniversary will not work.
Unzip it into World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns. Each addon is a folder that sits right inside AddOns, not a folder inside another folder.
On the character selection screen, open AddOns and check that the addon is ticked. An addon marked Out of date or Wrong game type was made for another version of the game.
Avoid Load out of date AddOns: an old addon may load and then break. Look for its Forever version instead: its folder has a file ending in _Camelot.toc, or a .toc file whose ## Interface: line includes 16001.
